The first week of the project

Hello. We are students of the LMC. This year we are participating in the international project “Building Better Cities”. So, we call ourselves Global Scholars. Our final project is called Green Spaces. Last week from the list of the suggested strategies we chose providing services and educating. This week, we have distributed the roles of our project. We’ve made a plan.

Our purpose is to make Saratov a more sustainable city. To achieve the goal we decided to: 1) attract more volunteers

2) organize a special community for raising money from volunteers. This way we can buy trees for our school 3) clean our school area 4) plant more trees

So, our classmates and students from 8th form will be involved into the action. Students from 8th form will help us to clean our school area and plant more trees.

This year two Global Scholars from our school, Glebova Valerya and Galkina Darya, took part in the ecological conference with their project "How to prevent global warming". They taught our classmates about climate change and global warming. Then they decided to offer them to do carbon footprint quiz. After discussing the results they conducted the second survey where the girls asked our classmates about what they were ready to change in their life to be more environmentally friendly. Then they gave some advice how to make Saratov greener.
