During the period from the 25th of April to the 15th of May many people in Russia were taking part in an action called “The Power Of Our Beauty”, which was connected with making Russia greener. So, this article will be about this action and our taking part in it.
Well, I’ve recently listed pages in a Russian social network and I’ve seen a strange selfie of a girl with two red stripes on her cheek. In her commentaries she told people about an action, made by the famous French cosmetic company Yves Rocher. I’ve visited the official site of this action and here is the information which I found.
From the of April to the 15th of May French company of natural cosmetics Yves Rocher was holding a great action, called #ThePowerOfOurBeauty, which was connected with the idea of making our country greener.
There were three variants to take part in this action:
Yves Rocher gave a special discount for all of its lipsticks and it promised to plant a tree for every lipstick which was bought during the action. All of the kinds of lipsticks were taking part in action.
People also could take part in action by photo mob. The photos had their special topic. It was a face of a person with two red stripes on his or her cheek. People posted their photos and selfies with hashtags #ThePowerOfOurBeauty and #YvesRocher (but in Russian) in social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, VKontakte and many others. They also downloaded their photos on the official site http://www.yves-rocher.ru/belle-engagee
The last variant is taking part in planting trees. The most active participants and volunteer groups took part in planting trees. They planted over 50000 in such cities like Astrakhan, Moscow and St. Petersburg. The official site is full of videos and photos from these events, so don’t worry about the honesty of this action.

How can we make sure that the trees have really been planted? - Yves Rocher has set itself a very ambitious goal – to plant one hundred million trees all over the world, five million have already appeared in Russia, on Altay. This fact is confirmed by the Book Of The Records In Russia. Our company will continue this inspiring initiative of making our world greener, expanding the geography of planting to other regions in Russia. For people who want to be sure that the trees within the action have really been planted they can look through our site, where they can find lots of photos and videos from the planting trees events.
Which trees do you plant? - We plant such trees that can easily adapt to the climate of the area. For example, for Moscow and St. Petersburg pines and spruces are good. For Astrakhan trees like elm, poplar and willow are great.
Why don’t you plant trees in Saratov? - Besides 5 million trees, which have already been planted, we are expanding the territory of planting our trees. Our purposes are great, and maybe next year Saratov will be included into the list of the cities, where Yves Rocher will plant trees.
